Description
Bestiary artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
Historically, the cockatrice and the basilisk have not been terribly distinguished from each other - however, since the art director wanted both for the game, I wanted to make sure they were at least visually distinct, but still holding true to most of the classical description: they were described as serpent-like, able to stand with its upper body erect, its head crested. Historians believe they were referring to the king cobra, so I gave our basilisk a bit of a snake-like countenance. I imagine most of the time he goes around on all six legs, but can rear up, taur-like, when he wants to :b

A Basilisk has six legs? I've seen some that have eight legs.
