A wolf kiss. :)

This was based completely on a sketch by ~Ulv, who drew it for me as a gift, depicting me and my love as wolves. Totally inspired by the cuteness, I did my own version, but I give credit for the idea to Ulv. I used a few photo references as well for guidance, particularly for the handsome male's markings on the left. Unfortunately, colouring black things well is hard, and I couldn't find any good references for black wolves that I liked, so the rendering isn't as good on my wolf, but that's okay, right? I still think they look sweet, and I particularly like how the male turned out. :)

I'm impressed!

When I saw the thumbnail, I was convinced that this was a photo. When I clicked the thumbnail, I was convinced that the wolves were 3D models... and now I find that it's actually a superb drawing. :giggle:

My favourite bit has to be the kiss, the muzzle of the gorgeous beige male is done very well, as is the tongue. I also really like the way the forelegs are on each other's shoulders. :)

You've done the fur extremely well, especially with the markings on the male, and I love the plain snow background. I was wondering if it might be interesting to see what the picture would look like without the larger, faded image of their heads? I think it would look really emotive if the rest of the background was quite bleak - it would draw more attention to the wolves themselves.

In any case, I love this piece, you've done a really good job on it. :D

Awww!!! So incredibly pretty and lovely... Funny I saw this after spending my day in a pen with a bunch of wolves. I would so loove to get the original, if it weren't digital and if it didn't hold too much sentimental value for you. It would make an awesome print though. :D
