Description
Anyone who's visited Manning Park probably knows that the area has been devastated by the mountain pine beetle, which has been able to thrive due to increasingly warmer winters. We were taking a hike along one of the trails, and you could see numerous trees left for dead, withered and bleak. While perhaps a bit dismaying, I thought it was a great reference opportunity for drawing creepy haunted trees.

Anyway, I'm always amazed at the amount of damage an insect can cause and this is no exception. I hope they can come up with a solution that doesn't cause more damage than the beetle.
