If you are going to make a photorealistic version, at least don't scrap this one? I really love it! She looks like a vision one would have after consuming some hallucinogenic substance and meditating on a wolf spirit. I think it's the fluidity of the colors that gives the piece this spiritual feeling. I just love it! :3
Yeah, I'll probably keep this one around - sort of like how some sketches just don't keep the same loose neat feel to them that polished pictures do, speedpaintings are kind of the same. I'm very glad you like it! Thank you very much
ONE HOUR? Please tell me you area joking because this is so amazing. I love the expression and I can't exactly state why but I really like what you've done with the teeth c: And I am an Ash fan hehehe. She may not have a species but usually when I sketch her Lynx references help! C: Without a computer I unfrtunately lost every sketch and drawing I had. But because at the moment I am sick and have nothing better to do I will draw her traditionally to make up for it!
Yeah, I miss her. Just been struggling with inspiration the past year, less so now, though - now it's just feeling under the weather (been feeling kind of sick since mid-December, actually) and feeling my boyfriend's uni/master's stress vicariously :b
Commissions can be good to challenge myself to do different things, but yeah, they really sapped my will and energy in the end, I think =/
Yeah, I hope so! Normally I like winter, but if I didn't know better, I'd almost think I were suffering from, whatsit... Seasonal Affective Disorder. Just been feeling like general crap for almost two months now. Weird.
"Oo, what's he mastering in? Is it SCIENCE?"
This made me smile. Sort of! He's mastering in philosophy, the genderless mother-father of science! His specialties are metaphysics, metaethics, and philosophy of the mind. The former involved a good amount of research into, like, particle and theoretical physics, while the later is kinda like biopsychology, so that's kind of science!
Man, pronouncing it like it's all in caps is even more satisfying than writing it.
Looking forward to see what you do then! I get SAD sometimes, just gotta keep trucking till you push through it. :/
Yeah, I always pronounce SCIENCE like it's in all caps. It's a lot better than the science they taught us in high school. Technically, you're right, philosophy in the literal sense is the umbrella under which all science resides, being that it literally comes from the Greek for 'love of wisdom'. Particle physics is good too. Just don't let him get all meta-bs like those freshmen who take one intro course and think they're geniuses.
"Just don't let him get all meta-bs like those freshmen who take one intro course and think they're geniuses."
Haha. He's been studying philosophy in university for a good five years or so, and studies it out of school, too :b A life's passion, if you will, AND he's crazy-good at it. Like, better than the profs good. Getting grades like 98% in classes where the top mark is like 85%. I'm proud of him He's got some good recommendations for Oxford, so hopefully we'll be going there.
When I saw this I thought it was a roaring mountain lion, now I see that it is neither a specified species, nor is it a roar, but a crying out, but is a cat type I can see that much. do think that for a one hour speed paint the details are quite good and if you are going for photo-realism then I say go for it. I also like the detail in the fangs as well as I can see them as quite believably sharp, I like this pic of Ash so far well done.
*nods* Indeed, she's a feline of no particular species, and I did imagine it to be more of a "crying out," as you said, than a roar (although I wanted it to be ambivalent and possibly go either way, depending on how the viewer chooses to see it).
Thank you so much! I'll hopefully go back over it more realistically some time soon, but we'll see!
