Commission - Together and Aloneby =jocarra

A very special commission for BerettaFusion, who lost his brother this holiday season and wanted something with which to commemorate him - he chose the moment when he first found out, just outside his truck, except with his brother there in spirit to comfort him. I imagined, then, a kind of duality between the painful emptiness of his brother's passing, and the idea of having a loving guardian angel to watch over him - to try to convey this, while the grey, overcast sky takes up the majority of the image, I wanted the clouds to also vaguely represent wings. I also worked closely with shots of his truck and his driveway provided to me - the truck photos in particular were essential to this turning out as well as it did.

Rest in peace, and my admiration to Beretta for the strength and bravery he's shown in this difficult time. Thanks again for being great to work with <3

No, the client wanted me to illustrate the moment he found out his brother died - he was pulling into his driveway on an overcast winter day and just getting out of his truck when he got the phone call.

Oh my god this is so powerful, I almost got choked up. Beautiful texture on the fur, it's very defined, but very well blended at the same time, not sure if that makes sense.

Thank you so much :) And yes, I think it does make sense - I'm glad you think so! Always sort of a concern with "hyper-detailed" stuff: making sure it blends well with everything around it, 'cause sometimes it can stick out like a sore thumb :b
