Space-themed artwork always has a hard time impressing me, but this is one of the exceptions. I knew instantly when I saw that celestial object it was the Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) even before I read the description - I'm an astronomer in real life, and I have seen the planetary nebula for real via telescope, along with a huge number of celestial objects including a black hole (actually, the star orbiting it). For a painting, you got the Helix down with remarkable accuracy - I especially like how you made the "Knot" parts in the ring section around the white dwarf. On a terrestrial note, Orvayn is very well designed, and the coniferous forest looks stunning. And I like how the image has a sort of mystical look to it. In short, great job for a space-themed image.
Wow, thank you very much! I tend to be concerned for accuracy when it comes to things ((compared to some other artists, anyway - one artist blocked me because I pointed out a character was holding a sword wrong :b)), and as this image was painted for an astrophysicist, I hoped it would suffice - it is, then, very reassuring to hear another astronomer tell me it's sufficiently done Appreciate the comment, thanks again!
