I wanted to prove to myself that I could do something vaguely resembling cell-shading. The wolf-dragon hybrid I created for *Cideth was a good opportunity to try it. This took far longer than it felt like it should have... but I guess it wasn't bad.
Lineart in Adobe Illustrator (~2 hours). Colour in Adobe PhotoShop 7.0. (~4 hours). Background rendered using new brushes given to me by =Venator-Somniorum. If you're interested in commissioning me, contact me via email or dA. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. xD Seriously though, you always do such an amazing job, yet I never cease to be amazed by your work. For some reason the red lighting in this really strikes me. Just don't know what to say to describe the awesomeness of this picture (and I hate using awesomeness cause it's so corny, but again... I can't think of another word to use)

Yeah, lighting effects can really make an image "pop" and I sorta feel the same way about the red. Made it so much more, somehow. I guess it serves to highlight the creature's form and help the eye look at it?
